This wedding was very special and beautiful. It was one of those where the weather did not cooperate, yet the love of Diandra and Julian and the work of all the parties involved came together to make something amazing happen regardless of the rain and circumstances. You have to read the interview we did at the end of this post.

Q. Describe your wedding in one sentence
A. Both Together: The best day of our lives, it was truly awesome in more ways we could have never imagined.

Q. What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
A. Bride: Our grand entrance and first dance. I literally felt like I was walking on cloud 9 dancing with my husband with the love and support of all the people that matter most to us. It was perfect.
Groom: The first look. I think it was the most impactful part of the day because we got to have a moment to share just us two. That moment was something that can’t be replicated.

Q. What was the most emotional part of the wedding for you?
A. Bride: Driving to the church with my dad and walking down the aisle. We had just done the first look so my nerves were gone, but I was filled with so much emotion to walk down that aisle towards Julian knowing I would walk out his wife!
A. Groom: Seeing Diandra walk down the aisle. I didn’t think I would get that emotional, but I had to hold back from tearing up.

Q. What was something you are glad you did on your wedding day that not everyone may realize?
A. Both Together: We are really happy with our decision to do the first look, and also to skip our cocktail hour. The first look was so special, and made both of us calm and excited to celebrate the rest of the day. Since we chose to do first look, we were also able to get some amazing bridal party shots before the ceremony which freed up time for us to enjoy together alone before the reception kicked-off. We had a blast running around Miracle Mile with Soul Echo and Riendhart for fun photos, and also enjoyed soaking in the moments where it was just us two.

Q. What is one piece of advice you would give a bride planning for her wedding?
A. Bride: Enjoy every moment! The greatest party you’ll ever throw takes so much time to plan and goes by in a flash! Take a moment to let everything sink in and don’t be afraid to let loose!

Q. How did you choose your venue and vendors?
A. Both Together: Our awesome planner, Melissa Barbier from Luxurious Events, helped us bring our vision to life.

Q. What song played during your first dance?
A. So High by John Legend. We’re big John Legend fans, and that was the song that was playing when Julian first told me he loved me.

Q. Who is one person (or persons) without whom you couldn’t have done this wedding? How did they make it possible?
A. Both Together: First of all – the love and support from both of our parents set the foundation for us to be able to make our wedding possible. We are lucky to have learned about unconditional love and commitment from them.
Second – without a doubt the wedding would not have been possible without Melissa, our planner, and her team. We started planning our wedding when we were living in Boston. Melissa listened to what we wanted, and assembled the dream team of vendors to bring that vision to life. There is truly not one thing we would change about that day, which is a true testament to how awesome her and the vendors we had the pleasure of working with are.

Q. How much did your feet hurt after the wedding?
A. Both Together: definitely not as much as our heads the next morning.

VENDORS: This wedding definitely was not possible without the united effort of all the vendors. Special thanks to Melissa from Luxurious Events for putting this team together.

When Luciana called me to photograph her wedding she gave me the best compliment ever. I had recently shot her sister’s wedding the year before. She said, “I purposefully did not want to hire all the same vendors my sister hired for her wedding because I wanted each wedding to feel unique, but after looking and looking at other photographers I really have to say that you are the best I’ve seen and want you to photograph our wedding too!” Hearing that just made my day. I had had a blast working with Luciana’s sister, Ana, the year before and now I couldn’t wait to photograph this one.

Luciana and Matt planned almost the entire wedding from out of town but you couldn’t tell by how well this all came together. It was gorgeous. For their wedding venue, they chose Estancia Culinaria, which is a real working avocado farm with a beautiful setting for a wedding. The Estancia Culinaria has a very picturesque, rustic home in which brides can get ready and the family is treated in vip style prior to the ceremony. The wedding itself is held in front of a very cute wood and stone chapel that sits amidst the avocado trees. The reception took place under a decorated tent complete with chandeliers.

While Luciana and the family got ready inside the house, Matt and his family played dominoes on the upstairs terrace.

Luciana and Matt decided to do a first look before the actual wedding.  Most of the portraits were done at that time.  We were able to take advantage of the property without guests having to wait on us.

Thank you Luciana, Matt and family for allowing me to capture these amazing moments in your life.

After the wedding, Luciana and Matt had this to say:

Q. What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
A. Both Together: Getting to party with so many family and friends that came from all over and marrying my best friend.

Q. What was the most emotional part of the wedding for you?
A. Bride: Listening to Matt read his vows.
A. Groom: When it was all over.

Q. What was something you are glad you did on your wedding day that not everyone may realize?
A. Bride: Turn my phone off! (and sip on champagne)
A. Groom: I actually had fun dancing and I showed teeth in some pictures.

Q. What is one piece of advice you would give a bride planning for her wedding?
A. Bride: Enjoy every minute, it goes by so fast and you miss so many of the details you worked so hard on planning. Also get a good team behind you, we were so lucky to work with so many amazing vendors!

Q. How did you make decisions about how to distribute your budget to get the wedding you wanted?
A. Both together: We weighed many of our decisions on how our guests would experience our wedding and worked from there.

Q. What song played during your first dance?
A. Ray Lamontagne- You are the best thing

Q. Who is one person (or persons) without whom you couldn’t have done this wedding? How did they make it possible?
A. Bride: My mother and sister. My mom was so supportive in the planning, not living in Miami made the planning a bit more challenging and she was always there to help us out. My sister because she recently got married and shared many contacts with me. She was also my idea sounding board.
A. Groom: My wife and father in law. My mom also helped us out with her artistry.

Q. How much did your feet hurt after the wedding?
A. Bride: They did not hurt at all! I brought 3 pairs of shoes to alternate.
A. Groom: Mine hurt more after I stepped on a sea urchin on our honeymoon.

This has to be one of the coolest weddings ever! Custom engraved converse, groom releasing doves, ice cream truck…what else can you ask for?

The whole wedding from getting ready to reception took place at the Bamboo Gallery in Davie, Florida. The Bamboo Gallery is a unique location for a wedding featuring lots of greenery and beautiful landscape for a setting. This event was planned to perfection by the talented Vanessa Oppo from Karma Goddess Event Planning and Design. (full list of vendors at end of post)

As a wedding gift for Mikhail, Farrell arranged for doves to be delivered to the Bamboo Gallery in order that Mikhail and the groomsmen could walk in slow motion with doves flying as in the movie 21 Jump Street. Hilarious! The doves didn’t cooperate as expected but they did work well as photo props.

We asked Mikhail and Farrell a few questions after the wedding:

Q. What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
A. Bride: EVERYTHING! I felt like I was floating the whole day. I don’t think even in my perfect world I envisioned our wedding to be like that. But I will say the ice cream truck was a huge hit

Q. What was the most emotional part of the wedding for you?
A. Both: the vows

Q. What was something you are glad you did on your wedding day that not everyone may realize?
A. Groom: texted everyone the day of the wedding the right address because we got it wrong on the invite
A. Bride: which I had no idea about! One thing I did was watch as everyone I loved walked into the venue from my hiding spot. I took that time to be myself and get present.

Q. What is one piece of advice you would give a bride planning for her wedding?
A. Try to enjoy it!! Everyone from vendors to family kept telling me what a calm bride I was but I just wanted to be present and enjoy it. I would also HIGHLY recommend a wedding planner.

Q. What song played during your first dance?
A. Sam smith: latch (acoustic version)

Q. Who is one person (or persons) without whom you couldn’t have done this wedding? How did they make it possible?
A. Groom: My new wife. She put it all together and planned it for over a year. This was her vision and she went above and beyond
A. Bride: my mom

Q. How much did your feet hurt after the wedding?
A. Not at all! We both wore converse that we engraved with our initials and wedding date!! Best decision ever!!

After the wedding, Jackie and Albert had this to say:

Q. What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
A. The entire day was a dream come true!! From waking up and getting all dolled up with the bridal party, to partying it up with family and friends; all of it was spectacular!

Q. What was the most emotional part of the wedding for you?
A. Walking down the aisle with my dad. Everyone’s eyes were on me. What a feeling! Im suprised my dad was able to keep the tears in, because he was a wreck in the car!! There’s no better dad out there.
As I was walking down the aisle I kept my eyes on Albert. Seeing his reaction was priceless.
Then our son walked us down the aisle as husband and wife! Josh came running to us, grabbed our hands, and walked his parents down.

Q. What was something you are glad you did on your wedding day that not everyone may realize?
A. I’m glad I had my family and friends to get ready with!

Q. What is one piece of advice you would give a bride planning for her wedding?
A. A tip I would give future brides is to have an engagement photo session!! These pictures come out beautiful and have a special meaning !

I had a blast working with Meagan and Jonathan during their engagement session earlier last year and so I was very excited to work with them for the wedding. They are a fun loving couple who is very passionate about each other and I knew their day would be special.

The wedding preparations started at the Sundy House in Delray Beach. The Sundy House is a historic home which now serves as a very beautiful, quaint bed and breakfast type cottages.

After the wedding, Meagan and Jonathan had this to say:

Q. What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
A. Bride: Our first dance. We practiced and practiced at home, but once I put on the dress, I didn’t know if we could pull it off. Luckily everything went exactly as planned and we had a blast showing off our dance moves to all of our friends and family.

A. Groom: Watching my future wife walk down the isle. It took everything I had to keep my composure and not to break down.

Q. What was the most emotional part of the wedding for you?
A. Bride: Saying our vows. I wasn’t sure if I was going to get through them because I knew that I would probably be crying. Somehow I managed to pull it together, and I think our vows really showed who we are as a couple and how much we support each other.

A. Groom: During the first look, I felt like I was looking at the most beautiful woman in the world. The next thought was “How am I going to flip her in this dress?”

Q. What was something you are glad you did on your wedding day that not everyone may realize?
Bride: Spending time, just John and I, right after the ceremony to take everything in and have 10 minutes to ourselves. We stood on the balcony together, enjoying our drinks and horderves, and watched as all of our friends and family were celebrating below. It was a special moment that I will never forget.

Groom: spending the day relaxing by the pool and grabbing lunch with my brothers and groomsmen made for an awesome start to the wedding day.
What is one piece of advice you would give a bride planning for her wedding?
Bride: Get a videographer. At first, we weren’t going to spend extra money on it, but it ended up being one of the best decisions that we made. Since we can’t be everywhere at once on the wedding day, we’re happy that someone could catch all of the action.

Groom: To other grooms: help your wife with planning the wedding- it will make her happy. Happy wife = happy life.
