Debra and Nick started their wedding day preparations at the Trump International Hotel in Sunny Isles, Florida.  The weather was amazing, emotions were high and love was in the air.

Debra and Nick decided to do a first look prior to the wedding in order to maximize the time and get the portraits done early in the day.  The Spanish Monastery is such a beautiful backdrop for pictures.

After the wedding ceremony we headed back to the Spanish Monastery for the cocktail and reception.  The weather and light were just amazing.

After the wedding we asked Debra and Nick some questions:

Q. What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

Bride: The actual ceremony, taking pictures with all the people you care about.
Groom: Dancing with family and friends.
Both: Seeing the reception decorated for the first time.

Q. What was the most emotional part of the wedding day?

Both: first look
Bride: also walking down aisle (my lip was trembling!) and lighting a candle for my father.

Q. What was something you are glad you did on your wedding day that not everyone may realize?

Both: Stepping back and taking it all in. We both specifically remember turning around right before the Bridal party was going to be announced and looking out at the empty Spanish Monastery garden since everyone was inside and it felt like it was just the two of us. Then turning around and seeing all of our closest friends and family in the bridal party was such an amazing and loving feeling.

Q. What is one piece of advice you would give a bride planning her wedding?

Both: Get “Events on a Budget” to do your entire wedding because not only are they amazing but so are all of their recommended vendors (photographer and florist especially:) :)

and take a step back throughout the day to take it all in and just be with one another.

Laura and Ryan had an amazingly beautiful wedding at the historic Biltmore hotel in Coral Gables, Miami.  The getting ready, portraits, wedding ceremony and reception were all held at the Biltmore.

This wedding was photographed by Bianca with 2 second shooters.

We asked Laura and Ryan a few questions after the wedding:

Q.  What was your favorite part of the wedding day?

A. The ceremony. It looked like a spring time fairy tale. The
weather, flowers, and music was perfect and everyone had a big smile
on their face.

Q.  What was the most emotional part of the wedding day?

Laura: Dancing to our first dance, “You are the best thing” by Ray
Lamontage. Even though everyone was watching, we felt like it was just
us two.

Also, my cousins’ Linas speech when she mentioned my grandmother and
said she was watching from the best seat in the house–in heaven.

RYAN: The first look, the first time I got to see my wife.

Q.  What was something you were glad you did on your wedding day that not everyone may realize?

LAURA: I am glad I took a lot of mental pictures!

RYAN: I surprised Laura with outside hanging lights which she always
said she wanted at the wedding.
I am also glad I did my own bow tie.

Q.  What is one piece of advice you would give a bride planning her wedding?

A.  Get a wedding planner–haha but seriously… Do 10-15 min alone
with the groom after the ceremony and remember to take a step back and
take lots of mental pictures!

Melissa and Nathaniel had a lovely wedding at the historic Deering Estate in Cutler Bay, Miami. Melissa and the family arrived early, hours prior to the wedding in order to not feel rushed and take some pictures before the festivities.

Thank you, Melissa and Nathaniel for allowing me to capture such a beautiful day in your lives.

I got to meet Nicole and Adam late last year when I photographed their engagement session in New York and fell in love with them immediately.  We hadn’t had the opportunity to meet until that point because Nicole was planning the whole wedding from out of town with the help of her awesome planner, Irene Tsetsekos from IM Events.  During our New York visit, my wife and I got to spend time with Nicole and Adam and it just solidified how happy I was to be a part of this wedding.

Just days prior to their destination wedding, where almost every single guest was coming from out of town, there was a blizzard all throughout the North East that had many, if not most flights cancelled.  Almost every guest had to find alternate routes in order to get to the wedding.  It is a testament to how special Nicole and Adam are that not one single guest was missing.  120 guests sacrificed through insane airport obstacles, long lines and delays in order to make it down and witness this wedding.  I don’t think anyone was disappointed as you will see.

After the wedding I asked Nicole and Adam a few questions:

Q.  What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
A.  We loved the reception kick off. It was finally the moment you get to truly kick back and just party and have fun. Especially, the moment you are announced at the reception and the guests go wild – it is such a rush!

Q.  What was the most emotional part of the wedding day?
A.  The walk down the aisle. For us this was a destination wedding, so to see 120 of your closest friends and family (who mostly traveled through a crazy snow storm) was very touching.

Q.  What was something you are glad you did on your wedding day that not everyone may realize?
A.  Personalizing the ceremony as much as possible. We had our best friend marry us and we wrote our own vows which I think added a unique element to our big day. Every word spoken was from the heart.

Q.  What is one piece of advice you would give a bride planning her wedding?
A.  At the end of the day something will go wrong but you can’t let it get to you. When you hire a good team of vendors you know you can count on them and they do everything in their power to make your day as special as possible. Oh, and give yourself as much time as possible…you do not want to rush on your wedding day.

We have been shooting weddings non stop since October and been really behind on all the blogging.  As always we are prioritizing delivering of images and products to our clients to have one of the fastest turn around times that we know of but sort of left the blog behind, but we need to catch up on all the awesome weddings we have been photographing.  This particular wedding was very different in that Elodie, Cedric and their whole families were French which brought a cultural dynamic to their wedding that was really special and beautiful.  Definitely one of the best parts of being a wedding photographer specially in Miami, is being able to photograph all the diverse cultures of the world and witness love from every country.  Not only was this a French wedding but it was also a Jewish ceremony with all the beauty and culture that Jewish weddings have.  The mix of French culture and Jewish tradition in the gorgeous panoramic setting of the Thalatta Estate made this wedding superb.  Elodie and Cedric are soft spoken, a bit shy, yet love to party with friends and family which made our talents of photographing candid moments a great match for them.

A special thanks to Emilie Hannoun from Five Star Events for planning this gorgeous event.

Unfortunately it started sprinkling during the ceremony.  No one left.  Guests covered themselves with the seat cushions.  No one cared.  Love was happening.  Even though I was also getting rained on, I wasn’t putting my camera down either.
