After the wedding, Karyn had this to say to all future brides:

Q. What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
A. My favorite part was walking into the church and seeing Iker for the first time. Even before we got engaged, I knew I would marry him, but I couldn’t haven’t felt it more when I walked into the church.

Q. What was the most emotional part of the wedding day?
A. When I told my dad before we walked down the aisle- I’ll always be daddy’s girl.

Q. What was something you are glad you did on your wedding day that not everyone may realize?
A. I’m glad we didn’t go to the cocktail hour. It was really the only time we had alone before the reception. We got to talk, take pictures around the church and rusty pelican, eat a little and get ready for an amazing time at our reception.

Q. What is one piece of advice you would give a bride planning her wedding?
A. Enjoy every single minute of the planning. It might get a little stressful at times, but make the best out of it. You don’t want to feel like you hate planning the best day of your life. You will love your wedding day so much more.

Thank you, Karyn and Iker for letting us be a part of your day!

Special thanks to Marylen Exposito for planning this wedding perfectly.

Celilia and Adrian got married on a picture perfect day in June at The Deering Estate in Miami’s Cutler Bay. The wedding preparations started at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.

They chose to do a first look before the wedding in order to get as many portraits done before the ceremony as possible.

One of the most beautiful aspects of the Deering Estate is the long walk as a father walks the bride towards the ceremony. The lawn overlooking the water was gorgeous that day. They were surrounded by close friends and family and it was a wonderful day.

Celilia and Adrian both play the Cello and they wanted to incorporate that into the details and photos of the their day so we took some time during the portraits to incorporate that personal touch.

Let me just start with this before I say anything…

key-west-wedding-photography-001

I can’t tell you how much I love this picture. I think it captures their personalities perfectly and also incorporates that Key West vibe. Key West is a pretty awesome place to have a wedding specially if you have a bride and groom like Christie and Rex. Scroll down for more pictures.

I had the opportunity to ask Christie some questions some weeks before the wedding.

Q. How long have you been dating?
A. By the time we get married it will have been a little over four years

Q. How did you first meet?
A. We first met at a work Happy Hour. At the time, we both worked for Deloitte (he as an auditor, me as a recruiter). I was enjoying the single life, and also had a strict no-dating-co-workers policy. Rex is incredibly persistent, though. He kept inviting me to parties that he had at his house (he throws a mean St. Patty’s Day and Halloween party) and I kept not attending (whoops). However, he also kept talking to me via our work instant messenger, and occasionally stopping by my desk to chat. Finally, it just clicked (two years later) that he was perfect for me. Looking back I don’t realize why I was so stupid!

Q. When did you first realize you were in love?
A. Shortly after Rex and I started dating, he decided that he wanted to go to business school in a different city. After a weekend visiting a school, and still not really knowing what would happen with our relationship (we’d only dated 6 months at this point!) we decided to call it off. We were both miserable for about a month, and then decided to reconnect and grab a drink at our favorite bar. It just came out that we both loved each other and that we would do whatever we had to in order to stay together. We’ve been together ever since.

Q. What made you choose your venue?
A. We decided on the Florida Keys because we have a LOT of friends and family that would have to travel and we wanted everyone to have a vacation! We specifically chose the Ocean Key resort, because the pier sounded like an amazing way to incorporate the water without everyone getting sandy – plus, the food looked phenomenal!

Q. What are you most looking forward to on the wedding day?
A. Celebrating with our friends and family who have done so much for us!

The entire wedding from preparations, to wedding ceremony to reception all took place at my favorite Key West wedding venue, the Ocean Key Resort.

After the wedding Christie had this to say:

Q. What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
A. Bride: There were so many parts. Seeing him tear up at the wedding when I’ve never seen Rex cry, my friends being so fantastic as bridesmaids, my family being there, the sunset, the food, everything…it was an awesome day.

Q. What was the most emotional part of the wedding day?
A. Right before I went down the aisle. There is so much emotion that you aren’t totally prepared for that all of a sudden it hits that you are about to marry this amazing person that you’ve loved for multiple years.

Q. What was something you are glad you did on your wedding day that not everyone may realize?
A. I am so happy I waited to give Rex his groom’s gift of the painting of our dog until the day of the wedding. I think having that moment immortalized by Alex is going to make it even better.

Q. What is one piece of advice you would give a bride planning her wedding?
A. I didn’t follow this advice – but don’t stress!! Also, it’s everyone’s day; not just yours. They all want to be there for you – let them.

Thank you, Christie and Rex for letting me be a part of this amazing day!

This wedding was an absolute blast. Not only is Crissy one of the sweetest, nicest brides ever but her, Andy and all their friends were just so much fun to work with. This wedding was full of really awesome moments. Crissy’s wedding day started at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Coconut Grove where she got ready with the bridesmaids.

Jenna and Elias are true nature lovers in the purest sense. They both work at the Miami-Dade Parks and Recreation department doing what they love. I can’t think of a better wedding venue for them than what they chose, the Hilton Key Largo Resort. The resort is full of beautiful wooded paths with views to the relaxing beaches of the Florida Keys. I’ve known Jenna professionally for several years now while working in the wedding industry and I was so honored to have been able to photograph her wedding.

This wedding was planned and coordinated by the talented Melissa Caceres from Events on a Budget. Make up by the talented Gina Dearing.
