PRIMARY PHOTOGRAPHER: ALEX
Debra and Nick started their wedding day preparations at the Trump International Hotel in Sunny Isles, Florida. The weather was amazing, emotions were high and love was in the air.
Debra and Nick decided to do a first look prior to the wedding in order to maximize the time and get the portraits done early in the day. The Spanish Monastery is such a beautiful backdrop for pictures.
The wedding took place at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Sunny Isles.
After the wedding ceremony we headed back to the Spanish Monastery for the cocktail and reception. The weather and light were just amazing.
This wedding was planned to perfection by Melissa Barbier from Events on a Budget.
The wedding reception took place inside the Spanish Monastery’s garden.
After the wedding we asked Debra and Nick some questions:
Q. What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Bride: The actual ceremony, taking pictures with all the people you care about.
Groom: Dancing with family and friends.
Both: Seeing the reception decorated for the first time.
Q. What was the most emotional part of the wedding day?
Both: first look
Bride: also walking down aisle (my lip was trembling!) and lighting a candle for my father.
Q. What was something you are glad you did on your wedding day that not everyone may realize?
Both: Stepping back and taking it all in. We both specifically remember turning around right before the Bridal party was going to be announced and looking out at the empty Spanish Monastery garden since everyone was inside and it felt like it was just the two of us. Then turning around and seeing all of our closest friends and family in the bridal party was such an amazing and loving feeling.
Q. What is one piece of advice you would give a bride planning her wedding?
Both: Get “Events on a Budget” to do your entire wedding because not only are they amazing but so are all of their recommended vendors (photographer and florist especially:)
and take a step back throughout the day to take it all in and just be with one another.
